Little Bro to ‘Finish Service’ In Memory of Big Sister

Senior Josh Griffith has wanted to join the military since he was a little kid. But after his sister, Kailee Bridges, passed away in 2013, he knew for sure that this is what he wanted to do.
Kailee served in the Marines up until she was diagnosed with bone cancer. Josh said Kailee was his number one reason for joining the military because he felt it was unfair for her to not get to finish her service.
“I always wanted to make my sister proud and I know for a fact she will be looking down on me, prouder than she ever has been,” said Josh, “She didn’t get to finish her enlistment because of her terminal cancer and I think it’s only right for someone to finish what she wasn’t able to. I’m just a little brother trying to make my hero proud.”
Josh will be enlisting into the United States Air Force after high school. He’ll be in training for eight and a half weeks and his enlistment will be a minimum of four years. He leaves August 18th for basic training in San Antonio, Texas and he couldn’t be more excited.
